With Only One Week Left Until The Premiere Of Season Three Of Millions Poet, The Five Judges Are Taking Part In A Special Live Call-In Episode In Which Viewers Can Call The Judges With Their Questions

With only one week left until the premiere of season three of Millions’ Poet, the five judges are taking part in a special live call-in episode in which viewers can call the judges with their questions. Sultan Al Amimi, an established writer and Nabati poet from the UAE, Dr. Ghassan Al Hassan, Professor and Arabic poetry specialist from Jordan, Turki Al Mureikhi, a magazine editor from Saudi Arabia, Hamad Al Saeed, a Kuwaiti editor of a poetry magazine, and Badr Al Sefoug, a founding member of several poetry magazines from Kuwait will all be in the studio answering questions from viewers about anything and everything relating to Millions’ Poet and Nabati poetry. The five enigmatic and sometimes critical judges went on tour through Kuwait, Riyadh, Jeddah, Jordan and finally, Abu Dhabi to decide on the 48 poets who will participate in season three of the Millions’ Poet. In each country, the judges auditioned thousands of aspiring female and male Nabati poets, dwindling them down to the 48 who will compete on the stage of Al Raha Beach Theatre in Abu Dhabi. Of the 48 poets, only one will leave holding on to the title and ‘Berag’ (flag) of Millions’ Poet as well as the cash prize of five million Dirhams. In order to continue on through the three rounds of the TV competition, poets must gain the respect and admiration for their poetry from both the judges and the viewers. The judges votes count for 50 per cent of the total with the rest determined through SMS messages from the audience for their favourite poets. Viewers can watch the special live call-in epsiode on Thursday at 22:30 on Abu Dhabi TV and the Poet channel in the run up to the live TV show beginning on December 11. The Millions’ Poet was launched by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage and is produced by Pyramedia. Its aim has been to bring the region’s youth back to its roots by taking the traditions of the Bedouins from the Gulf into the 21st Century by bringing them to our screens. This year’s live competition will see 48 poets battle it out through various stages to impress their audiences with their poetry and win the prestigious title of the ‘Millions’ Poet’ as well as a cash prize of five million Dirhams.
