Etihad Set To Resume Bangkok Flights

Etihad Airways Will Tomorrow Resume Its Twice A Day Flight Programme Between Abu Dhabi And Bangkok Following The Re-Opening Of Suvarnabhumi Airport

Etihad Airways will tomorrow resume its twice a day flight programme between Abu Dhabi and Bangkok following the re-opening of Suvarnabhumi airport. To meet the demand from travellers stranded due to the recent civil unrest in Thailand, Etihad will also operate additional charter flights until Monday 8 December from Bangkok to Abu Dhabi which will ensure Etihad can fly more than 3,000 passengers in the next three days from the Thai capital. Etihad has already flown six special relief flights from U-Tapao airport in Thailand since it suspended its Bangkok services on Wednesday 26 November when protesters closed the main international airport. These flights have carried more than 2,500 travellers, many of whom had onward connections to Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Etihad also flew extra staff to Thailand to support the country team. Captain Richard Hill, Etihad Airways’ executive vice president operations, said: “We are extremely pleased to resume our twice a day flights to Suvarnabhumi airport as well as to operate an additional charter service which will run until we are happy that all of our customers have returned home to their families and friends.”
