256 Exhibitors From 28 Countries To Participate In The 5th Edition Of ENVIRONMENT Exhibition In Abu Dhabi


Co-located conference will focus on "Sustainable Management for Coastal Zones" featuring 30 top speakers










The fifth edition of the ENVIRONMENT 2009 Exhibition & Conference which takes place 19 – 21 January 2009 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, will feature 256 exhibitors from 28 countries showcasing a range of water, waste and air quality management solutions. Germany, France, The UK, Italy, Switzerland and China will host national pavilions at the event at which over 10,000 visitors from more than 25 countries are expected. The show, to be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), will occupy a gross exhibit space of 10,000 sqm. The exhibitor profile at ENVIRONMENT 2009 also includes pollution treatment and recycling, energy, protection of natural and cultural resources, risk prevention and management, sustainable development, regulation, audit and consultancy, training and education, among other areas. The event is organised by Reed Exhibitions Middle East in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Environment & Water (MoEW). Other key supporters of the event include the UAE Ministry of Interior; the UAE Ministry of Energy; the Supreme Petroleum Council; the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi; Estidama and UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme). A conference on “Sustainable Management for Coastal Zones” will also be held at ENVIRONMENT 2009 on January 20th and 21st, which will provide a platform for key stakeholders involved in managing the region’s coastal zones to network, discuss and debate solutions to coastal degradation across the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. Thirty local, regional and international speakers including representatives from ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company), Abu Dhabi Municipality, ADWEA (Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority), Gulf Research Centre, Emirates Aluminium, Al Ain Municipality, Mott MacDonald, Qatar Petroleum, the German Engineering Federation and Mouchel will address the conference sessions. Seminars on environmental challenges, studies and innovations will also take place during the three days of the exhibition. Frederic Theux, President of Reed Exhibitions Middle East said: “We are very proud to present the fifth successive edition of ENVIRONMENT in Abu Dhabi. In planning this show, we have strongly leveraged our knowledge and understanding of the sector as well as Reed’s international network to sharpen the event’s focus. Theux also added that the event had grown considerably since Reed had acquired the show in December 2006. “We believe the ENVIRONMENT Exhibition & Conference will present comprehensive solutions to the most pressing environmental concerns confronting the Middle East region”. Officials from government agencies, NGOs (non-governmental organizations), environmental agencies, policy makers, auditors and managers of emissions regulatory authorities, educators and environmentalists, corporate and municipal planners, professionals and decision-makers from energy, water management, waste management, pollution treatment and recycling sectors are expected to be among the 10,000+ visitors at ENVIRONMENT 2009. Leading names among the 182 international exhibitors are SUEZ Environment, Casella Management Ltd., YSI Inc., KRT Sewer Rehabilitation Technology FZE, MRT System International AB and Ros Roca. Seventy-four UAE companies will take part including ADNOC, Aldar, EMAL (Emirates Aluminium), Dulsco, Dome Oilfield Engineering & Services and Dubai Municipality. ADNOC is the platinum sponsor of ENVIRONMENT 2009 while gold sponsors are the Department of Municipal Affairs and Intercare. Other sponsors include Aldar, Total, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and EMAL.
