Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital provides various medical services











The Abu Dhabi Falcons Hospital (ADFH), one of the biggest hospitals in the Middle East, provides various medical and treatment services to the falcons, other species and domestic animals. Majid Al Mansouri, secretary general of the Environment Agency- Abu Dhabi (EAD), said the ADFH has been transformed from a seasonal veterinary unit into an advanced medical facility that provides variety of the medical services year-long. It provides medical services to other pets as well as medical training programmes in this respect. He added that the ADFH also provides medical training programmes on bird flu and surgery, adding that the ADFH has tourist programme with distinguished entertainment services for customers. Dr Margaret Muller, director of the ADFH said the hospital was opened in October 1999 and grew to become the biggest falcons’ hospital in the UAE. The falcons and birds, which were treated in the first nine years of inception reached over 31, 000. She added that the ADFH has extended the customer-base not only in the UAE but in other countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. The (EAD) organized Thursday a media tour to Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital bringing together a number of journalists from different mass media in the UAE. The tour aimed at bringing the environmental message to the public and to instil in them an increased respect and interest in the environment.
