Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Distribution (ADNOC-Distribution) head office has followed the emerging corporate design trend of refitting rather than relocating their head office. They commissioned Summertown International the corporate turnkey design and fit-out solution specialist, to fully refurbish an entire floor of the corporation.
The project took place on the ninth floor of ADNOC Distribution head office, which occupies 1,000 square meters of office space. The entire floor was redesigned and modernized by Summertown International as a pilot project ahead of the complete refurbishment of their corporate head office, which was established in the early 1990s.
The multi million-dirham design refit modified and adapted the existing partition system to a new layout, maintaining ADNOC’s distinctive corporate policy of an open workspace enhancing communication and reflecting transparent corporate business practices.
“The ADNOC project was a fantastic one to work on, as we were able to upgrade the functionality of the space while also creating a vibrant and lively working environment for their employees,” explained Mohammed Kailani, General Manager , Summertown International.
“We were initially involved as design consultants of the project however after surveying the site and creating specific and detailed design sketches along with colored perspectives, we were successful and privileged enough to be awarded the entire contract in order to execute our full vision. The end result being a distinctly different floor that delivers the vision of modernity, openness and transparency,” he added.
The design implementation incorporated a selection of rich fabrics, wall coverings, wood finishes, carpeting, glass partitions and doors with frosted accents allowing for privacy. A selection of ESTEL furniture was used including Asterisco work stations, chairs and screens in a modular format finished with durable material completing the overall fresh and polished office look.
