CNIA And Al Otaiba Enterprises Ink AED 147mn Agreement For Security Card Management

The Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA) has signed a cooperation agreement with Al Otaiba Enterprises to provide security authorization and access cards, and to meet other needs and requirements for security procedures at critical sites. The total value of the agreement is AED 147 million. The agreement was signed by CNIA’s Director General H.E. Staff Brigadier Engineer Muhair Ali Al Khateri and Mr. Sultan Al Otaiba, Chairman of Al Otaiba Enterprises, at IDEX 2009. Khateri said the agreement is in line with the directive from H.H. President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nayhan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to further strengthen the security capabilities of CNIA as per the aspirations of the government of Abu Dhabi. "Security authorization and access cards issued by CNIA are designed to meet the highest international security and technical standards and requirements," Al Khateri added. He added that the smart card contains a module with data such as Public Key Infrastructure biometrics including fingerprints and other verification and identification data. He explained that cards like these help maintain the high performance of security authorities by controlling the entry of individuals and vehicles into critical sites and by keeping a daily log controlled by relevant authorities. Mr. Al Otaiba expressed his gratitude to H.E. Brigadier Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, CNIA’s Chairman, for the confidence CNIA has placed in Al Otaiba Enterprises as demonstrated in the signing of the agreement. He added that Al Otaiba Enterprises is a leading UAE provider of comprehensive integrated security technology solutions for facilities through its team of experts and international partnerships.
