Abu Dhabi Notary Public sees 19 % rise in operations in 2008











Abu Dhabi Notary Public registered an increase of 18.8 per cent in operations in 2008 compared with 2007 to reach 124,000 transactions out of which Abu Dhabi city captured 81200 and 39,000 in Al Ain and 4000 in the Western Region. Mohammed Ashraf Al Boulaki, Manager of Notary Public Administration at Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, said that the remarkable growth achieved in Notary Public operations is due to the rapid expansion of the notary public offices which have speeded up the processes and provided more convenience to customers. The number of notary public in Abu Dhabi reached 21 branches. The department also plans to extend the working hours of the various branches to allow customers who are unable to finish their procedures in the morning to complete them in the evening. Two branches are expected to be launched soon in Al Heiar in Al Ain and Delma. The Department has also made changes in work procedures in order to bring them in sync with its ongoing modernization plans. The next phase will see further progress, with the notary public services migrating to electronic channels to ensure enhanced performance and greater efficiency. Migrating to electronic interfaces and connectivity is taking place in the Notary Public through a secure programming application for better services and performance. Also, the department is working on developing unified applications, categorized and numbered to ease and speed up procedures. Moreover, archiving is taking place through a high tech system, which save space and simplify retrieval processes.
