Etihad To Launch New Services To Larnaca











Etihad Airways will in June add Larnaca in Cyprus to its flying programme to Europe from Abu Dhabi. The new three flights a week service will bring Etihad’s global flight network to 53 cities, supplementing new services to Melbourne in Australia in March and Istanbul and Athens, which will also start in June. James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ chief executive, said: “The launch of flights to Larnaca illustrates Etihad’s ambitions to strengthen our European network and we anticipate strong demand for flights which will help open up new commercial and cultural ties between the UAE and Cyprus.” “The new route also offers excellent connecting opportunities in Abu Dhabi, helping to link Larnaca with Cypriot communities worldwide and our new service this month to Melbourne will benefit greatly with the start-up in June of flights from Cyprus.” The flights, scheduled to for Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, will also appeal to the UAE community who will be able to visit the attractive island for short weekend breaks. The addition of Larnaca will bring to 13 the number of European destinations served by Etihad including: Athens, Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, Geneva, Istanbul, London, Manchester, Milan, Minsk, Munich, Paris. Larnaca is situated on the southern coast of Cyprus and the city is the island’s second largest commercial centre, close to the capital Nicosia and popular tourist resorts of Paphos and Limassol. Etihad will operate a two-class Airbus A320 between Abu Dhabi and Larnaca, configured to carry 140 passengers with 20 seats in business class and 120 in economy class. Flight EY093 will fly on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, departing from Abu Dhabi at 9.40am and arriving in Larnaca at 12.15pm. On the return, flight EY094 will depart Larnaca at 3.35pm and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 8.05pm. All times are local.
