FNC Sessions Discuss Issues Of National Importance











His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, said that in-depth and transparent deliberations of the Federal National Council (FNC) highly contribute to analyse crucial national topics and strengthen the performance of parliament practices in the UAE. Dr Gargash said that national concerns have gained extreme attention form both the FNC members and the cabinet. He stressed that both parties agree on the core of these topics and are keen to provide the appropriate solutions to support the welfare of the UAE society. “The UAE has achieved remarkable progress in various sectors. However, it is essential to have ongoing and healthy political practices to further strengthen the development process,” Dr Gargash said. Commenting on the debates took place on Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, Dr Gargash praised His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, for precise answers, which contribute to the welfare of the Nationals and the country. He said: “FNC members highlighted their commitment to the UAE’s values by approving the housing aid for National women. This comes in line with leadership’s vision to protect and respect human rights and to achieve social justice. The human rights reports that the UAE presented at Geneva express the country’s achievements in human rights, which were welcomed by the Human Rights Council. On the question to His Excellency Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, about the Ministry’s policy for first grade exams, Dr Hassan clarified the importance of the methodology adopted to deal with the exams systems to further enhance the quality of the educational system. The Minister of Health His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Al Qutami, was asked on governmental measures to punish companies selling contaminated medicines. He explained the procedures been taken by the ministry to monitor it and take action. Minister of State for Financial Affairs His Excellency Obeid Humaid Al Tayer attended the session, and responding to a question on the regulations for real estate developers, he said that the government is considering creating a federal body to co-ordinate and oversee the work of local property regulators. The Federal National Council (FNC) passed bills on the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, creation of the Federal Customs Authority and also gave its nod for recommendations regarding the Marriage Fund.
