Abu Dhabi International Airport the only winner in the Arab region of ACI Airport Service Quality Awards 2008
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is the only airport in the Arab region to be named in the Airports Council International’s (ACI) Airport Service Quality Survey. This accolade is testament to ADAC’s commitment to create a customer-focused, world-class airport facility.
The survey records passengers’ perception of more than 30 service aspects in the airport. It is the most thorough airport service benchmarking programme, recording results throughout the year to account for peaks and troughs and ensure accuracy of findings.
To achieve its high ranking, Abu Dhabi International Airport has consistently delivered high quality services to customers using the airport. The rankings were based on more than 200,000 questionnaires completed at 108 airports worldwide. The regular feedback lets airports improve their facilities and service based on real passenger opinions and benchmark against other participating airports across the world.
Expressing ADAC’s dedication to service excellence, Mrs. Sheikha Al Maskari, Vice President of Corporate Affairs, ADAC, said:
“ADAC is always looking at ways to improve and deliver services and facilities above and beyond passenger expectations. To this end, we endeavour to hire, train and retain exceptional personnel for our airport, from customer facing staff to operations and facilities management staff. This award can be attributed to the hard work of all our airport employees.
“Some credit must also go to the airport expansion and redevelopment taking place at the airport. The refurbishment of Terminal 1, the facelift of Terminal 2 and the phasing in of the new Terminal 3 are important developments which have improved both passenger experience and facilities we offer our partners.
“These developments are all part of a larger redevelopment project currently underway which will ensure our high quality standards are upheld even as passenger traffic continues to increase in line with the development of Abu Dhabi as a destination for commerce and tourism.”
ADAC is no stranger to awards. In 2008 alone, it received five awards, including Best Airport Security Provider and Duty Free of the year, both received at the Aviation Business Awards. It also received SkyTrax’s award for Best Baggage Reclaim, and ACI’s In-flight Catering Food Quality, Safety and Hygiene Award as well as its Service Quality Assured certification.
