ADICOE Partners With Harrington Institute











A strategic partnership agreement was signed here yesterday at noon between Abu Dhabi International Center for Organizational Excellence (ADICOE), affiliated to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) and the U.S. Harrington Institute specializing in the field of quality and organizational excellence, in the presence of H.E. Mohammad Rashid Al-Hameli, ADCCI Director General and a number of members of ADICOE’s board of directors. The agreement was signed by Professor Hadi Eltigani, ADICO CEO and Dr. James Harrington, CEO of Harrington Institute. H.E. Mohammad Rashid Al-Hameli, ADCCI Director General affirmed on the occasion of signing the agreement that this cooperation and strategic partnership with the US Harrington Institute, one of the most well-known institutes and organizations in the US and the world in the field of quality and organizational excellence, comes as part of the ADCCI’S and ADICOE’s efforts to prepare and train assessors and evaluators in organizational quality and excellence awards, create an authority for accrediting those assessors and evaluators according to the agreement through which ADICOE will become an Arab and regional authority in this area, pointing out that this agreement will help in promoting sustainable development particularly in the realm of human resources development and training in the UAE and the region and in providing them with the best knowledge and skills in total quality and excellence. Professor Eltigani, ADICOE CEO, for his part, said that this agreement aims to develop a basic system for training and registering experts, trainers, and assessors in the field of quality and organizational excellence as this system will be the first Arab and regional initiative in this area for awarding accreditation for individuals who undergo training and for entities that are involved in the field of quality and organizational excellence. According to the agreement between ADICOE and Harrington Institute, both sides shall cooperate to design, develop and apply a powerful and efficient system for the accreditation of assessors, evaluators, and consultants in quality management and organizational excellence and for providing global solutions customized to public and private organizations and entities in the Arab Region and the Middle East. The partnership agreement concluded between the two parties also involves developing and implementing a powerful and integrated system for the accreditation of consultants and experts in quality and organizational excellence through a two-phased program, in which phase one will involve developing and implementing a system for accreditation of key skills of the awards’ consultants and assessors, while phase two will involve developing and implementing a system for accreditation of specialized skills of experts and assessors of organizational excellence and quality awards. Furthermore, a committee from both sides shall be set up for the accreditation of consultants and for devising a detailed plan for developing and applying accreditation standards of organizational excellence and quality assessors, evaluators, and experts who shall assess and serve as judges in quality and excellence awards in the Arab Region and the Middle East, according to the agreement. Professor Eltigani also emphasized the importance of this agreement as it will turn ADICOE to an Arab and regional authority for the accreditation of assessors and evaluators of excellence awards as those experts shall undergo training and development to become holders of accredited and official certificates in the field of assessment of quality and excellence awards, and which will be the first official accreditation of the first center in the Middle East in this area, thereby enhancing the status of the Center and that of Abu Dhabi as a leading regional and international center of organizational excellence and quality. This agreement will also contribute to providing organizational excellence and quality awards’ assessors and evaluators in the region with the best knowledge, information and skills in the area of quality and excellence thereby contributing to raising individual and collective performance of official and private organizations in the UAE, the Arab Region and the Middle East in general, he pointed out, adding that this agreement will contribute to upgrading the capacities and skills of quality and organizational excellence experts in the region which will ultimately place public and private organizations on the road towards excellence and achieve excellence in business. ADICOE which oversees the implementation and organization of a number of quality and excellence awards in the country, notably Skeikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA), had launched the first specialized program in organizational excellence, the first-ever professional master’s degree program in organizational excellence being offered in the Middle East and the GCC which attracted more than 50 people including CEO’s, experts, and senior officials from public and private organizations in the UAE and the GCC, and which is delivered in cooperation with and accredited by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) and the British Quality Foundation (BQF).
