Sorouh Supports The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Show Jumping Championship

In a press conference today, Sorouh Real Estate PJSC announced its sponsorship of the three day Abu Dhabi Show Jumping Championship. The championship, to be held at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club from Thursday 15 January, is one of the five rounds that will count towards qualification for the Rolex FEI World Cup Finals in Las Vegas, USA from 15-19 April 2009. In a statement released by Sorouh the company stated: “Sorouh would like to thank His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Honorary President of the Organising Committee, for giving Sorouh Real Estate the opportunity to sponsor this three-day Show Jumping Championship. “Sorouh’s support for this three-day championship, starting on Thursday, is a matter of great pride for Sorouh. This championship is one of the most important events in the UAE’s domestic circuit and features a dozen events, all of international level. “Through this support, Sorouh hopes that the UAE’s riders will continue to reach international levels, with this event giving our national riders the chance to compete against the best in the region and to qualify for the World Cup.” Sorouh has been a strong supporter of UAE sport, and equestrian sport in particular, since it was established in 2005. Through its extensive cultural and educational sponsorship programme, and corporate social responsibility efforts, Sorouh supports causes which contribute to the well-being of the UAE community. Sorouh’s sponsorship of this week’s show jumping championship is just one aspect of this. Sorouh has also recently had the pleasure of sponsoring Sultan Seif Alawani, a thirteen year old UAE national, whose extraordinary talent led him to qualify as a young rider for the World Championship in Columbia in December 2008. In his career to date, Sultan’s titles include the 2007-2008 championship of the UAE. Regularly training at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club with his horse Billy, Sultan is one of the UAE’s great hopes for the future of the sport.
