Al Ain’s First Shopping Festival To Be Hosted By Bawadi Mall From June 10 Until August 29


Move reflects the city’s push to emerge as a prominent shopping destination










Bawadi Mall, the largest shopping mall in Al Ain, is hosting the "Round the World in 80 Days" shopping festival from today (June 10) to August 29, 2009. The festival is targeting not only Al Ain and neighborhood residents but also the entire UAE and Oman, in addition to tourists.

The festivities at the popular mall new mall, which saw a footfall of 500,000 in May, will provide a host of fun activities, wholesome family entertainment and fabulous prizes for shoppers.

Bashar Tamimi, General Manager, Bawadi Mall, said: "11 international troupes from Lebanon, Sudan, Egypt, India, Ireland, Russia, Philippines, UAE, Colombia, Syria and the UAE will bring alive the shopping festival with colourful entertainment programs. These groups will celebrate the cultures of their countries. We have assembled these international troupes to convey the Al Ain’s aspiration to position itself more prominently on the world map."

In addition to the festivities on the main stage of the mall, the 10,000 sq. m. “Family Entertainment Center” will dazzle spectators with an exciting mix of fun, ranging from the “Roller Coaster” to the “Fun Ski Village”, amongst many other attractions.

Visitors can also watch their favourite movies at the eight-screen cineplex, play at the 16-lane bowling alley, and enjoy the food at the food-court and several casual dining alternatives offering delicious varieties of cuisines.

Tamimi added: “Bawadi Mall has opened at a time where Al Ain city is expanding dramatically. Bawadi Mall provides an ideal shopping experience for people of the UAE and beyond. The shopping sector in the UAE is very robust, and this explains why top brands are setting their sights on this region, away from their home countries. New brands have made their debut in the Al Ain city through our mall, such as Zara, Mango, MAX , Marks & Spencer, Kotton, New look, H&M, ACE Hardware amongst others. The mall has attracted more than 380 retail outlets, including international names.”

The 140,000 square metre Bawadi Mall, with a gross leasable area of 110,000 square metres, has been positioned as Al Ain’s ultimate shopping, dining and leisure destination. It is located just 5 minutes from the town center on “Mezyad Road”, which can be conveniently accessed, avoiding the congested city roads.

Bawadi Mall houses a mix of international as well as regional retail brands of fashion, food, jewellery and much more, all in a bright, spacious and inviting environment, distinguished by a wide curved vaulted skylight that soars above the main corridor and its main three spacious courts.
