Adma-Opco Awards (EPC) Contract With $402 Million For Integrated Gas Development Project (IGD-HAP) Offshore Package To NPCC

Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) signed yesterday a $ 402 million Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) agreement for the Integrated Gas Development project – Habshan Platform (HAP) with National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC).

IGD is an ambitious and strategic initiative of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to process & supply the gas to meet growing needs and development plans of Abu Dhabi. IGD-HAP is the first package of several offshore and onshore packages of the “Integrated Gas Development Project (IGD)”.

ADMA-OPCO portion involves the challenging offshore portion of gas production by drilling additional gas wells and processing platform at Umm Shaif for gas dehydration and transfer to Das Island through the new 46” 38 km Main Gas Line to be laid under this contract.

The agreement was signed at ADMA-OPCO Headquarters by Ali Al-Jarwan, ADMA-OPCO General Manager and Aqeel Madhi NPCC CEO. The engineering, procurement and fabrication works are scheduled for completion by mid 2012, well in time to meet the downstream projects. The contract was awarded to NPCC on 2nd April, 2009, after ADNOC and the Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) approval.

“This challenge would not have been met but for the ambition, vision, leadership and support of ADNOC to utilize the best prevailing market conditions as golden opportunity for investment,” said Mr. Al-Jarwan.

Mr. Madhi assured that NPCC would endeavor to meet all challenges for successful and timely completion of the IGD-HAP Project.
