The ‘Magic On Ice’ Grand Illusion spectacle which opens at Zayed Sports City ice-rink on August 1 is to star two of Europe’s leading ice-skating champions in its cast.
The glamorous Czech Republic pairs champion Michaela Krutska will team up with Polish pairs champion Roger Lubicz Sawicki to perform an ice adagio during the 60-minute extravaganza which will run daily until August 15, with the exception of August 9, with performances beginning at 8pm.
“These two ice-skating masters will dazzle audiences with their breathtaking display of strength and power,” said Steve Wheeler, who produces ‘Magic On Ice’ – the world’s first and only magic show on ice.
‘Magic On Ice’ is a headline event of the Summer in Abu Dhabi family carnival which runs daily at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre until August 15.
Also in the 18-strong cast line-up for ‘Magic On Ice’ which comes to the UAE capital direct from the USA is Russia’s former Bolshoi Circus On Ice star Oxana Anichkina who has made an awe-inspiring hula hoop performance her trade mark.
“This show gives UAE and Gulf audiences a rare opportunity to see these stars in action,” said Faisal Al Sheikh, Events Section Head, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, which is presenting Summer in Abu Dhabi.
“Michaela and Roger have performed extensively throughout Europe and were among the celebrities featured in the hit TV show ‘Stars Dancing on Ice’ while Oxana has entertained audiences worldwide and is renowned throughout the global ice-skating community.”
Steve Wheeler has designed the show to take audiences into the world of the grand illusion in a production the New York Post has described as ‘Superb & Bewildering.’
