On This Week’s ’Nashwa,’ Victims Of Swindlers And Fraud

Nashwa Al Ruwaini sits down this week to take about the strangest generation of swindlers the Arab world has seen on ‘Nashwa.’ A group of victims will each talk about the different experiences they had dealing with swindlers.

‘Nashwa’ is aired on Dubai TV every Monday at 22:30 and repeated every Saturday at 18:00.

Nashwa’s guests this week range from women to men, young to old, all of who were affected by a swindler and became victims of fraud. One guest gave his whole fortune to a swindler then convinced his wife and her wealthy family to enter what he considered a winning deal only to find out that he had lost $1.5 million. Another was deluded with images of grandeur after receiving an email saying he had inherited millions of dollars from an elderly woman who had passed away. Unbeknown to him, a large fraud operation was behind the emails and wanted only to clear his bank account.

A trusting woman was taken advantage of because of her religious fear of loan sharks who would demand hundreds of dollars over the price of the loan. A swindler gained her trust and took all her money to place in fictitious companies. Others were tempted by the fast profits to be gained in the stock market which double their fortune in a few months and had deposited all their money with specialized experts in swindling and fraud hoping to reap the rewards only to find none.

Nashwa will also speak to a woman who lives in the UAE and who helped in the arrest of Al Boushi, the most famous swindler of the year. Al Boushi has taken money from various individuals with the promise of investing it but instead used it for personal gain, taking off one night with the bulk of their money.

The show concludes with a tasty segment in which Nashwa’s audience taste exclusive desserts and chocolates emblazoned with Nashwa’s image made by the first female to work as a dessert chef for a five-star restaurant in Bahrain.
