The Big House of Fun 2009 has concluded its one month of summer activities at Al Qasba, having attracted over 8,000 children this summer. The event, which ran from June 25th to July 25th has closed its doors to the crowds of children, teenagers and families who have enjoyed month long activities, events and shows this past month.
The Big House of Fun consisted of one huge marquee divided into three sections, which included a theatre, a Museum of natural History and vegetation, a section with shops, a special area for educational activities and a fun workshops section.

“This year Big House of Fun attracted far more families than we had originally anticipated. We are extremely pleased not only with the high turnout but with the range of events and shows that we were able to organize this year,” said Dina Al Nakhi, Events Manager at Al Qasba Development Authority

The Mad Science show in particular received positive feedback, offering children the chance to play a range of scientific games, win prizes and benefit educationally. With over 24 prizes handed out to lucky winners, the children received shopping vouchers as well as educational books, courtesy of Kalimat publishing and distribution agency.

Throughout the month, the Big House of Fun included many events and shows, like: Cinderella and Aladdin in both Arabic and English in addition to a Roland Mcdoland performance and several competitions. It also included recycling and environmental workshops, as well as art workshops with opportunities for children to do painting, coloring and learn crafts.
