Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital Opens Its Doors For Patients In South Sudan











Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and the Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will spare no effort to harness all available means to serve the humanity and alleviate the sufferings of people with diseases where ever they are. This humanitarian trait is naturally rooted in the country’s principles, which were cultivated by its founder late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan added.

In a message given on the occasion of the commissioning of the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital in Juba city in South Sudan, Sheikh Hamdan said that the UAE has been keen on providing the best curative, surgical, preventive and training services with the aim of alleviating the sufferings of the patients.

South Sudan was specially selected to become the first station of the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital, which will roam several parts of the world with the humanitarian mission, Sheikh Hamdan noted.

He added that the charitable, healthcare and humanitarian efforts of UAE are limitless and it reflects the keenness of the country in harnessing all available capabilities for the welfare of the humanity.

The Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital is one of the major humanitarian initiatives of the UAE, thanks to the directives of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This initiative is ardently followed up by HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Sheikh Hamdan also said that the commissioning of the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital represents a new phase of the humanitarian initiatives aimed at the destitute people worldwide and the hospital will continue to serve the people in the region for a period of four months, thus taking the medical help to tens of thousands of people in South Sudan.

Team leader of the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital Khadeen Al-Dere’i said that Sheikh Hamdan has given directives to guarantee all the requirements to facilitate this great humanitarian effort, which aims to provide free medical help for those who can not afford expenses of treatment. He also hailed the support of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt.General HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to this initiative.

He said that with the aim of providing the best curative, surgical and preventive services, the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital is leading a team of elite medics and paramedics from around the world. The medical team is led by the executive director of the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital and the world renowned surgeon Dr. Adel Al Shamari.

The commissioning of the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital was attended by a large number of officials from the Sudanese Ministry of Health, universities, medical practitioners and people of the Juba region.

Health Minister of Southern Sudan Joseph Wigang expressed profound gratitude to HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for this humanitarian effort. The selection of Juba in the Southern Sudan to become the first station of the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital reflects the depth of the relations between UAE and Sudan, Wigang said.

The minister added that the government and the people of Sudan will cherish deep appreciation and gratitude for this great humanitarian effort of the UAE.

This effort will leave in the hearts of the people memories of kindness and humanitarian feelings, especially after the patients who have suffered their diseases without being able to find resources for treatment have now found the best treatment of high standards, the minister noted.
