Sharjah Innovation Park Meets And Honors Local And International Media

Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) honored its strategic media partners and journalists from local and international media institutions in appreciation of their coverage of the Park’s achievements in 2019.  They were also briefed on the Park’s most prominent innovative projects and investments. A tour was also held to showcase the research projects and tests happening at SRTI Park in addition to the new headquarters, which is scheduled for inauguration at the beginning of April.

On this occasion, His Excellency Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the media for its important role in promoting the Park and conveying the importance a knowledge-based economy.

Al-Mahmoudi also reviewed during the meeting the goals and vision of the Park, which come as a translation of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s vision to establish the Emirate of Sharjah as the capital of education, scientific research and innovation with the support of the American University of Sharjah (AUS). Through our relationships with the most prestigious universities like Cambridge University, Oxford and Imperial College we have created an environment of research and world-class innovation, in the fields of: water technology, renewable energy, environmental technology, transportation technology, information technology, industrial architecture and design.

SRTI Park

The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park), an initiative of the American University of Sharjah Enterprises (AUSE), has expressed its commitment towards positioning itself as a premier research and innovation hub in the UAE. Established in 2016 by royal decree of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE, and Ruler of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, SRTI Park aims to develop and manage an innovation ecosystem within a free zone that promotes R&D and supports enterprise activities and the triple helix collaboration of industry, government, and academia.

The park will encourage the creation of knowledge-intensive companies and provide a state-of-the-art location for businesses and organizations to access research undertaken at the Sharjah University City ecosystem, comprised of 46,000 students, 2,000 PHDs and 12 academic institutes.  Phase 1 of the park is due for completion in 2019 and will comprise three inter-linked buildings of some 60,000 square feet that will house the park’s headquarters, laboratories and innovation centers, and will host a mix of Startups, SMEs & Anchor companies that focus on contributing to the R&D and innovation culture of the region. Future phases include a center of excellence, a technology museum, a hotel, a convention center, and housing units.

SRTI Park continues extensively in its efforts to attract and host knowledge-intensive businesses. The thematic pillars SRTI Park will focus on are water technology, renewable energy, environmental technology, digitization, Industrial Design 4.0, and Mobility & Smart Cities. 

The aim of SRTI Park is to provide an environment conducive to creativity and innovation by creating an attractive and sustainable park with world-class infrastructure and services, supporting, promoting and developing the innovation system and to enhance the Emirate's status as a global destination in the fields of research and technology.
