154 New Unique Ideas From Abu Dhabi To The World At TIP Summit 2020

TIP Summit 2020 concluded two days of over 30 innovator debuts, unveiling the future of innovative technology in Abu Dhabi. More than 2000 visitors and 154 exhibiting start-ups who launched their latest technology solutions trying to solve the challenges set by the healthcare, environment and energy sectors.

40 inventions were awarded, 30 of whom in the fields of healthcare, environment and energy, in addition to 10 other winners who will receive patent support to start registering their first inventions in the UAE. Such results will work towards increasing the number of patents filed under the Global Innovation Index and bringing talent to the United Arab Emirates.

Wrapping up the event, H.E. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Cabinet Member and Minister of Infrastructure Development and H.E. Mohammed Al-Shurafa Al Hammadi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, visited the stat-ups pavilion encouraging the entrepreneurs and inventors to continue in thinking “outside the box”.

Al Shurafa said: “TIP makes the perfect platform for global networking as it’s bringing together renowned speakers and scientists, decision makers; gifted and creative inventors and investors, across the globe, here in Abu Dhabi, with the sole purpose of solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges.”

He continues: “TIP Abu Dhabi, at its core, is about empowering those inventors and innovators by providing them a platform where they can innovate and create the solutions needed, and also contribute to the UAE’s economic and social development and the world as a whole.

We, in Abu Dhabi, are proud to be a part of the effort to encourage transformation and spearhead a culture of innovation and, following the directives set by our wise leadership, will always promote competitiveness and entrepreneurial development to ensure a legacy of hope for the future generations. The message we are sending the world is clear: Abu Dhabi is committed to playing a role in making the world a better place. And we welcome all those who share it join us.”

H.E. Mohammed Al-Shurafa further strengthened the message of support when he met with various members of the SMEs and start-up community and confirmed that the government of Abu Dhabi has released new policies and initiatives to address many of the items being discussed, while many more start-up and entrepreneur-friendly policies will soon come into effect.

TIP Summit 2020 welcomed over 2000 visitors who have visited start-up pavilions, listened to over 128 expert speakers and panels and taken part in more than 35 workshops and seminars.

The summit also unveiled the next generation of innovative solutions and winning projects, including an invention created to prevent acute renal failure through a digital program, the "Drone" that can extinguish fires in the most challenging locations, and an intelligent application that caters to people suffering from chronic diseases.
