Labor Standards Development Authority Launches New Coronavirus Awareness Campaign In Industrial Areas Of The Emirate Of Sharjah











The Labor Standards Development Authority in Sharjah has launched a new corona virus, Covid-19awareness campaign in the industrial and commercial areas of the Emirate of Sharjah, to enhance protection, health and safety procedures for workers, companies and employers in these areas. The campaign, conductedas part of the keen interest of the Government of Sharjah, represented by the Executive Council, to improve the public health and safety, also aimed at controlling the spread of Covid-19by improving health conditions, and precautionary measures in these areas.

His Excellency Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, Chairman of the Labor Standards Development Authority in Sharjah, said, “We launched this new awareness campaign recently. LSDAstaff having been implementing the awareness campaign and fixingawarenessposters, and roll ups written in several languages ​​atworkers’ accommodations, factories, restaurants shopsand all utilities commonly used by workers in the industrial and commercial areas of the Emirate of Sharjah.”

Heexpressed satisfaction for the cooperation LSDA campaign received from employers, staff and owners of the factories, companies and shops involved, urging the rest for more cooperation to help the awareness campaigns reachall.

He saidbeside the new campaign, the authority continuesconducting all other awareness programs for workers and employers in the Emirate of Sharjah which are supported by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman the Executive Council.

He added that the LSDA aims to reach out to all workers and work employers in the emirate with its Covid-19 awareness preventioncampaigns by spreading health awareness and delivering the latest preventionmeasures to them. The authority has so far managed to reach out for more than 300,000 workers from about 6,000 companies. “The campaigns would not have achieved this success without the cooperation of the concerned authorities, especially the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Prevention and Safety Authority in Sharjah, Sharjah Police, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, Bee'ah Company, and other authorities fighting the spread of Coronavirus.

In addition to the new campaign, the authority continues to implement the SMSmessagescampaigns containing awareness and prevention guidelines against the virus, that are sentdirectly to the phones of workers and employers in their various languages ​​to their work and accommodation places. LSDA also continues to distribute leaflets and digital awareness videos in several languages, namely English, Urdu, Pashto, Filipino, and Bengali, to companies employing workersin the Emirate, to distribute amongtheir workers.
