CrossFit Championship Returns To Dubai

Quickly becoming a major player in the world of global sporting events, there’s a lot going on in Dubai and the UAE attracting all sorts of attention – the upcoming world cup in Dubai, hosting the UFC events throughout the past two years with many punters taking advantage of Sports Interaction referral code for wagering, the controversy around the latest F1 race in Abu Dhabi, and once again the CrossFit Championship  too – as a proving ground for athletes outside of North America, the DCC becomes home to some incredible talent, but what should fans know about the event and what’s to expect from the athletes?

The contenders – Whilst there may be some notable names missing from the contenders list, as many of the North American athletes in particular will choose to stay home for these games, there are some big names to make a splash too – Jeffrey Adler finished third at the Rogue Invitational and was able to put a strong performance on in the 2019 games, Đukić will be making his third appearance and looking like a strong favourite, and the woman’s division looks to be rounding out very well too with Horvath making her fourth appearance and hoping to improve on a second place in years past.

The prize money – The tournament in Dubai has been known to  step things up, particularly for the finals, but the prize money is nothing to be snubbed at – the winner will walk away with $50,000, second place with $30,000, and third with $20,000 – those finishing in fourth and fifth will still receive some cash too and additional money will be paid out per event winner too. A very health figure for those still looking to prove themselves on the global CrossFit stage too.

The games themselves – Dubai has always been able to offer a very unique set of games to test the athletes too, whether that comes from the unique geography of the surrounding location or the incredible facilities at hand too –moving athletes from the sandy dunes to the cold indoor snowy ski slopes, there’s always a lot of excitement that comes with the games in Dubai and the upcoming games aren’t set to be any different. Fans will certainly have to keep an eye out for the unique challenges that will face many of the athletes hoping to come out on top at the next DCC.

As Dubai and the UAE continues to prove itself as a great home for many of the biggest sporting and entertainment events in the world, this is yet another example of the great organisation that goes into it – and hopefully can welcome more athletes in the future when much of the current difficulty with travel is able to relax.
