Emirates Palace Hosts Manchester City Stars











The Emirates Palace has played host to the stars of Manchester City club who stayed at the hotel while training in Abu Dhabi and marveled at the beauty of the architectural wonder.

While staying in Abu Dhabi, the Sky Blues conducted their training on the Emirates Palace’s water-front FIFA -class football pitch.

According to Emirates Palace General Manager Hans Olbertz, the pitch, built according the international standards, is considered one of the best in the world.

Last July, Emirates Palace and Manchester City club signed an agreement under which the latter will use Emirates Palace facilities for training during breaks of the English Premier league.

Olbertz welcomed the deal, saying that it stemmed from the Emirates Palace’s keenness to provide its high profile clients, including Manchester City Club, with a unique and exclusive experience." "We are proud to claim Emirates Palace - this first class facility and one of the most extraordinary hotels ever built - as our official winter training headquarters," said Manchester City Football Club CEO Garry Cook.

With a growing and enthusiastic fan base in the UAE, we look forward to a friendly in Abu Dhabi in November added Cook , who visited Emirates Palace recently for the local launch of the club’s new 2009/10 kit.

"The Club feels an obvious kinship with the city, and this game is another way for us to interact with the community at a grassroots level." The facility is designed and built according to international standards.

The facility is considered part of the legacy of the FIFA Club World Cup 2009 in the UAE. It also features in the hotel’s long-term strategy as one of the world’s most luxurious destinations. The pitch will be used for training by International seeking to practice in warm and cozy atmospheres.

The FIFA Club World Cup 2009, sponsored by Toyota, will be held in Abu Dhabi on 9-19 December 2009.
