Sharjah Economic Development Department Organizes Open Day Meeting

Increasing licenses and enhancing performance top priorities

The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) recently attributed the achievement of its goals – including providing an appropriate climate for investors and businessmen, attracting foreign capital, facilitating proceedings and executing administrative work swiftly - to the wise directives of H.H. Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince, Vice Ruler of Sharjah and SEDD CEO.

The announcement came during an open day organized by SEDD at the Golf Club, which was led by H.E. Ali Salim Al Mahmoud, SEDD General Manager - who presented a speech at the start of the meeting - with numerous departmental managers and employees in attendance. Ways in which to develop the actual performance of the Department, as well as the means that lead to the development of quality services were discussed during the meeting.

Various topics came under the spotlight, including the importance of increasing the number of licenses issued by the Department, a top priority for SEDD. Continuing to attract companies seeking profitable investment opportunities in all economical fields in the emirate was earmarked as another priority, as this encourages other sectors to contribute to the economic activity of Sharjah. During the meeting, SEDD vowed to continue to support investments in these sectors by providing an appropriate investment environment, coupled with quality services to its clients.

Numerous ideas and interpositions aimed at achieving higher growth rates were introduced during the meeting, along with questions, inquiries and suggestions discussed by Al Mahmoud and SEDD division and branch managers. Meeting participants concluded that teamwork is the fundamental element contributing to the success of SEDD, and that employees play an important role in achieving goals and plans set by the higher management of the Department. Collaborative teamwork was highlighted as the essential ingredient in achieving any aim. Moreover, employees expressed their support for all methods that contribute to the development of SEDD and its employees.

At the end of the meeting, employees expressed their appreciation of the open days set by the Department as it brings employees and their ideas closer and provides a positive and practical environment that serves SEDD’s goals, invokes creativity and innovation on the part of management and employees, and pushes them to work harder to serve the developmental movement in Sharjah and the UAE.
