SCCI Facilitates Online Submissions For Sharjah Economic Excellence Award To Attract Emirate’s Top Businesses

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has announced major enhancements to the official website of the Sharjah Economic Excellence Award (SEEA) (www.seea.ae) to generate greater interest and participation from the local business and economic communities.

Launched recently at SCCI’s headquarters, the eighth cycle of SEEA is intensifying efforts to identify and honour firms with proven excellence in corporate governance, business ethics, corporate social responsibility and environmental awareness. Organisers have enhanced the design and functionality of the event’s website, which now includes online registration and entry forms. Visitors can view important SEEA updates and news and gain information on the award’s categories, model and criteria, assessment methodology, qualifications, and incentives.

“SEEA is meant to motivate companies to improve their operations and undertake key projects and initiatives to ensure their sustainable growth and success. The internet is a very effective tool for spreading this event’s goals to a larger audience. We expect this year to be especially successful as we have implemented stricter criteria and expanded our award categories. We want Sharjah’s businesses to be highly energized as 2010 approaches,” said Hussein Al Mahmoudi, Director General, SCCI.

“We have given the SEEA website a new look to reflect the significant changes in the event’s format and the importance of the internet as a communication channel. The new portal now contains all the elements needed to actively participate in, and acquire updates on, SEEA. Through our revamped site we expect an even greater response from the private and economic sectors this year,” added Nada Al Hajri, SEEA General Coordinator, SCCI.

The Sharjah Economic Excellence Award was created to complement SCCI initiatives to boost economic development, enhance the standing of Chamber members in the local, regional and international markets, and promote emirate-wide organisational excellence. This year’s cycle will feature the new Gold, Large Firms, Medium & Small Firms and Business Pioneers Categories plus a special Economic Personality of the Year Award. New sponsors such as Perlite Middle East and Gulftainer have signed up to help develop a bigger and better event.
