Mohammed Bin Zayed Opens Japanese Tea Hut In Abu Dhabi











HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces welcomed the opening of the Japanese Tea hut at the Emirates Palace Hotel.

The crown prince said that United Arab Emirates has close ties with Japan and is keen to enhance these relations in several fields, including the field of culture.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, accompanied by Dr Hounsai Genshitsu Sen, Grand Master of the Urasenke Chado opened the Japanese Tea-hut in Abu Dhabi.

He praised the ancient Japanese traditions and the keenness of Japanese families to cling to their tradition and heritage in spite of the temptations of modern life. He admired the taste of the tea and marvelled at the way of its preparation and the Japanese tea ceremony rituals.

As part of the rituals, the tea-hut was named ’Green Oasis’ in perpetuation of the memory of late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan who loved greenery and transformed many parts of the desert into farmlands.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed wrote the name on a shingle which will be displayed on the hut after being engraved in Japan.

President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan awarded Dr Hounsai Genshitsu Sen the UAE Order of Independence Medal, First Class.

Dr Hounsai expressed pride and appreciation for the kind gesture of HH President for the award and thanked Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed for decorating him with the medal.
