Zayed Foundation inaugurates charity and humanitarian projects in Morocco and Mali











The Zayed Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works (ZFCHW), has concluded tour to Kingdom of Morocco and Republic of Mali inaugurating a number of charity projects there.

The delegation was headed by HE Salem Obeid Al Dhaheri, Director General of ZFHCW, and included Eng. Salem Al Ameri, Technical Advisor of ZFHCW, Mr. Abdul Hameed Abdul Hai, ZFHCW’s Counselor.

Al Dhaheri in a statement on this occasion said that the delegation’s tour comes under the instructions of the wise leadership of the UAE and the directives of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ZFHCW.

He noted that the delegation’s activities in Morocco included participation in a scientific symposium inaugurated by HE Saeed H. Al Ketbi, UAE Ambassador to Kingdom of Morocco and organized by the magazine "Arab history" on the occasion of its fiftieth issuance. The magazine is published by the Federation of Moroccan Historians and funded by ZFHCW with an amount of one hundred thousand dollar per year.

Salem Obeid Al Dhaheri presented the foundation’s gift to Dr. Abdul Karim Karim, Chairman of the Federation of Moroccan Historians in appreciation of his contribution in scientific field. He pointed out that the magazine deals with contemporary Arab history and has won 11 gold medals from a number of Arab leaders. Around 280 Arab and Muslim scholars, intellectuals and academics from around 155 Arab and Islamic universities have contributed in the publication of magazine.

He added that the delegation inaugurated Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Morocco, which was built on the expanses of ZFHCW in implementation of the instructions of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

He cited that the mosque has capacity to room around 3500 prayers in addition to a prayer room for women on the top floor with the expanse of $ 500,000. The mosque is equipped with television screens for lessons and sermons and also includes a model extension, including Khatib and Muezzin housing and a library equipped with computers, Internet, view list and Eid prayer.

The Delegation also visited Bamako, the Capital of the Republic of Mali to inaugurate Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan College of Economic and Legal Studies at a total cost of about six million U.S. dollars.

Al Dhaheri said that the foundation has allocated funds for the college to help continue performing its scientific mission and rely chiefly on its own resources to finance its activities.

The study in the college will be for the people of the Republic of Mali with low-income, especially graduates of the Arabic language institutes in order to encourage the spread Arabic language in the region.

It was announced that foundation will continue to support the process of special education in Mali and West Africa in general. It is pertinent to mention that the foundation, through its presence in Mali, held several meetings with senior officials, whereas it was agreed that the foundation will dig 65 wells especially in remote and disadvantaged areas.
