Liberty Automobiles Unveils All-New Cadillac SRX, Expects Sales To Double In 2010

Liberty Automobiles has projected doubling of sales in 2010 for the all-new Cadillac SRX, which it unveiled at a glittering ceremony at its Sheikh Zayed Road showroom on Saturday night.

The stylish five-seater AWD vehicle, which has created a sensation in the luxury crossover segment, boasts features like electronic LSD (limited slip differential); new efficient 3.0L, V-6 engine with six-speed automatic transmission; all-new chassis for strong driving dynamics; superior connectivity, infotainment and safety technology features, including high-resolution pop-up navigation, and a unique rear cargo management system.

“The new Cadillac SRX with its unique design, safety and technology features, has won widespread acceptance among car enthusiasts in the local market,” said Duncan Peat, Managing Director, Liberty Automobiles. “Based on the pre-bookings and increasing number of inquiries, we foresee 100 per cent growth in sales over its predecessor.”

The dramatic unveiling of the sleek, new Cadillac SRX was witnessed by senior officials from General Motors, Liberty Automobiles and Liberty Investment - the holding company, along with invitees who included VIPs, customers as well as Cadillac fans.

Thierry Sabbagh, Regional Brand Manager, Cadillac & Hummer at General Motors Middle East, said: “Liberty Automobiles and General Motors have enjoyed a fruitful partnership over the past 35 years. We see Liberty as a strong partner in driving the growth of the Cadillac brand in the UAE. As they launch the all-new, 2010 SRX Crossover, we wish them success and further growth in the future.”

“Traditionally, the Cadillac brand has been predominantly popular with the older generation of UAE nationals. But with the introduction of the Cadillac CTS in 2002 and several advanced technology features, the Cadillac appeal has now woven its way into the expatriate segment. We can see that the new Cadillac SRX is increasingly attracting the attention of youth as well as local and expatriate families,” added Rajesh Krishnan, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Liberty Automobiles.

The SRX 2010 first generated great interest in the UAE when it was briefly displayed at the Dubai International Motor Show in December 2009. At that time, Liberty Automobiles received several on-the-spot bookings, with down payments.

“Customer feedback has been highly positive,” added Krishnan. “The pre-bookings have been very good, with the first two shipments being sold well in advance. We anticipate a further rise in bookings with the economic recovery gaining momentum day by day.”

As part of after-sales care, Liberty Automobiles is offering 4 years/100,000 km service and warranty package, supported by a network of 8 showrooms and 6 service/parts centres across the UAE, thus ensuring a hassle-free ownership experience to customers.

Some of the first customers to own the new Cadillac SRX were effusive in their praise, as they received the keys and drove their new cars out of the Liberty showroom after the launch.

“I liked the latest gadgets and high technology used in the new SRX,” said Olesya Vladi, Executive Director of KB Maslova Union Middle East, as she took delivery of the car. “The SRX is spacious, yet compact, making it easy to manoeuvre, unlike other cars in its type which are much larger in size.”

“It’s the stylish look of the new SRX that attracted me most,” said Jamal Abdel Hadi, General Manager, Al Qudra Advertising & Marketing. “My son influenced me a lot in buying this car because of its many hi-tech features, the new all-wheel drive system and the advanced navigation features.”
