Commenting on the forthcoming event, Dr. Alleem said: “Sustainability doesn’t mean green. Sustainable development is about economic growth that takes proper account of environmental effects and that is socially responsible.”

Several Hamriyah Free Zone Authority officials will be sharing their own practices under the “Sustainability in Hamriyah Free Zone” session in the afternoon. It will be led by Marketing Director Hadi Qasim and Finance and Strategic Planning Director T.V. Ramesh.

From the partner side, Unger Steel Middle East, Al Hanoo Holdings and Developer Building Contracting will also discuss their own experiences.

“This congress will also be discussing the challenges facing sustainability in the business environment after the great crash of 2008 and how to overcome it,” Dr. Alleem added.
