Sharjah Chamber Launches "Auto Parts Week" To Boost Sales Activity In Emirate’s Spare Parts Retail Industry

SCCI organises second installment of "Shopping Weeks" initiative featuring chamber members from auto parts & accessories sector

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has announced the successful launch of “Auto Parts Week,” the second installment of the local chamber’s “Shopping Weeks” initiative that seeks to enhance and improve Sharjah’s auto spare parts industry. The event, which runs from June 1, 2010 to June 21, 2010, will showcase products and services of several SCCI associate members from the auto parts and accessories trade and distribution sector. Sponsored by Al Futtaim Motors, the exclusive distributor for Toyota in the UAE, the promotional campaign will also feature a series of workshops, lectures and presentations aimed at promoting road safety and the use of genuine auto parts and will culminate with the raffling off of a brand new Toyota luxury vehicle.

The promotional campaign is currently being participated in by main auto service centers, spare parts and accessories retail outlets and tire shops in Sharjah’s industrial area and nearby cities like Al Dhaid, Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al Hosn. Main activities of the event will be held on the First Industrial Street, also known as BMW road. To further encourage target consumers to participate in the event, a special raffle draw featuring a brand new Toyota car and other valuable gifts will be raffled off at the end of the event. Customers will qualify for the draw upon purchasing products worth AED 100 and above.

Hussein Mohammed Al Mahmoudi, Director General, SCCI, said, “The SCCI is pleased with the overwhelming response we are seeing in the initial days of “Auto Parts Week”. So far, visitors have flocked to participating outlets and have registered for free subscriptions, posters and have joined the raffle for a brand new Toyota car that will be given away on the last day of the campaign. This activity complements the SCCI’s continued commitment to provide support and assistance to Sharjah’s growing number of small and medium enterprises—providing participating members with key benefits like advertising, media coverage and effective marketing strategies that can help these retail units reach out to different social segments. Moreover, our “Shopping Weeks” initiative also reflects our efforts to promote the adoption of more benchmark trade practices and international standards that can help in the emirate’s development as an ideal investment destination and allows us to move one step closer towards achieving total sustainable development.”

To help ensure a smooth run of activities, the SCCI has created a special team that has been tasked to oversee the activities and other concerns related to the campaign. “Auto Parts Week” falls in line with the local chamber’s vision to strengthen Sharjah’s stature as a city that offers a diverse line of services--supporting the different business establishments and stressing on the important role they play in the emirate’s economic development.

The “Shopping Weeks” program is an SCCI initiative that aims to help increase sales activity in Sharjah and to support associate members by organizing promotional campaigns for each segment of the trade and retail sector. “Auto Parts Week” follows after the success of ‘Mobile Phone Week”, which was held in March.
