Fast Rent A Car Supporting Volunteer Charity Over Ramadan

Fleet helps collect and distribute donations for flood victims in Pakistan

Fast Rent A Car, the UAE’s leading locally owned vehicle rental company, has joined forces with Volunteer in Abu Dhabi (VIAD) in support of two of the non-profit organisation’s Ramadan projects.

During the Holy Month, Fast will provide transport for VIAD’s Red Crescent-backed food collection scheme for flood victims in Pakistan. The rent-a-car company will also help collect food, medication and clothing to be delivered to Shelter in Dubai for distribution in affected areas of Pakistan.

The food collection initiative, also supported by Géant, Aramex, Al Ghazal and organised by VIAD’s sister organisation, Volunteer in Dubai (VID), will run throughout Ramadan, with volunteer activities taking place every day at Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai. VIAD provides support for the scheme by sending volunteers every Friday. For these days, Fast Rent a Car will provide transport from Abu Dhabi for volunteers participating in the campaign, as well as helping to transport donations for Shelter’s Pakistan Flood Relief Dubai campaign to designated collection points in Dubai.

Fast Rent A Car is not new to this kind of initiative and prides itself on its active community involvement. The company has previously worked with Volunteer in Dubai, providing transport for children with special needs.

Those wishing to contribute to VIAD’s Ramadan project can do so by purchasing food items from Géant Hypermarket and passing them on to volunteers at VIAD’s stalls in the shop, or by simply donating cash towards the purchase of items. Volunteers can support VIAD assisting the collection of items within the store on Fridays and by helping to assemble food packages.
