Sahara Centre Makes EID Special For Children At Sharjah City For Humanitarian Services

Sahara Centre – the leading family shopping and entertainment destination in the UAE – has donated to the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) gift vouchers to make EID special for children at the centre.

In keeping with the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the generous donation came from the success of the Sahara Centre Ramadan initiative, ‘Making Others Happy, Makes You Happy’, where customers were rewarded with Sahara shopping vouchers during a draw on 29th August, just in time for their EID shopping. In total, ten customers won 2,000 AED Sahara shopping vouchers each. An amount equivalent to the total prize money won by customers was then gifted to SCHS.

Speaking on the Ramadan initiative, Akram Ammar, General Manager of Sahara Centre said: “Ramadan is a time of giving and reflection, and this year our Ramadan initiative, ‘Making Others Happy, Makes You Happy,’ has been truly rewarding on both accounts. It is important to make a difference in people’s lives and we believe everyone should do a little if they can. We are pleased to be able to do something for the children at SCHS and hope to continue to give generously in the future as well.”

The SCHS is dedicated to providing education, care, training and rehabilitation to children and adults with special needs, regardless of the level of the disability. It also aims to provide job opportunities, support to families and educate the public on disability issues.

To collect the donation from the Sahara Centre, Mr Jihad Al Taher, a representative from SCHS was accompanied by two fortunate SCHS children, Hussien Kamal Al Buhiri and Mehrez Kamal Abd El Rihim, who had fun in exploring the Mall before being treated to some clothes and gifts.

Speaking on the donation, Mr Al Taher, said: “The Sahara Centre has made the Ramadan dreams come true not only for children like Hussien and Mehrez, but for all 2000 children and adults that they provide support to. We are very grateful to Sahara Centre management and customers for their kindness and generosity. I would like to wish everyone a very warm Ramadan Kareem and a joyful Eid Mubaraak.”

For customers visiting Sahara Centre during the forthcoming Eid holidays, there is still time to enter the Grand Ramadan raffle for a chance to win a luxury Infiniti G37 Cabriolet car and four sets of Panasonic home appliances. The raffle will be held on September 18, 2010.
