Al Qasba’s ’Vintage On Wheels’ Classic Car Show A Hit Among Visitors For 2nd Year Running

Crowds take a personal look inside the development of automobiles up till the 1970’s, including rare models from different countries

Car enthusiasts have been gathering once again in Sharjah to view the latest instalment of the popular Vintage on Wheels, a classic car show hosted by cultural and entertainment destination Al Qasba. The event is being organized in partnership with the Classic Cars Museum in Sharjah from October 19 - 23 and is free for public viewing.

Automobiles from a variety of international companies from the early 20th century include some of the most stunning creations of steel and horsepower to ever grace the asphalt. The historic pieces featured this week include a 1917 Dodge, classic Plymouth buggies, and hotrod Chevrolet Corvettes form the 1960s. It was during this historical period where the first real consumer sales started to flourish. Rapid advancements of the industrial mechanics and body designers have since marked a golden age in the car world.

Strolling through the walkways, Dina Al Nakhi, Events Manager at Al Qasba, says that the partnership with the Classic Cars Museum has helped connect the public with the country’s recent excitement over the automotive industry. “This region is very enthusiastic about the cars’ industry and is eager to learn more about it and its development over the last 100 years,” adds Al Nakhi.

“Seeing a historical comparative between the treasures of the past and the marvels of today really does allow one to appreciate all that goes into creating these performance machines. Such perspective will be on display for all to see during Vintage on Wheels, and we hope to inspire the modern generation of car enthusiasts to enjoy and respect the power of their vehicles,” concluded Al Nakhi.
