Annual Ballet Show At SLC











Art & Educational Center at Sharjah Ladies Club hosted the annual ballet show in Al Kunooz hall at SLC. The Ballet show was attended by a large number of parents who enjoyed the various ballet segments performed by the dancers that dazzled the audience and left them wanting more.

This event comes within the “Precious Investment” campaign, which is released by the Supreme Council for Family Affairs within all its institutions, aiming in defining the role of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in raising the standards of families as well as supporting positive behaviors by emphasizing it.

First, Souad Saleem, Media & Pr Supervisor welcomed the guests and parents. Then each group had a special stand up at the beginning of the show, for each to show their team and taking group pictures. The show consisted of 26 various segments, performed by 7 groups consisting of 95 ballerinas. Each group performed on famous modernized and classical pieces that it return amazed the audience and showed off the ballerinas skills.

“We, the Art & Educational Center always make sure of developing talents and hobbies to reach the level of perfection. Today’s annual show held by the center, shows off the various ballet segments, and gives parents the chance in having a direct connection with their ballerinas. This ceremony is held at the end of each training semester, so that parents can be found on the outcome and hard work of the girl’s continuous training throughout the year. We are glad of holding such a successful event which amazed the audience”, said Sara Al Marzouqi, Art & Educational Center Manager.

Al Marzouqi also added, “We are grad to be the only institution in Sharjah and one of the few institutions on the UAE provides certificates, certified by the British Royal Academy of Dance. And I would like to thank all those involved in the ceremony, including ballet teacher Sherryl Osterloh, as well as the parent’s constant encouragement to their children, and best of luck to all our participants”.

Moreover, a common ballet dance was performed joining all participating groups, and certificates certified by the British Royal Academy of Dance distributed amongst the ballerinas by Sara Al Marzouqi. In addition, ballet teacher, Sherryl Osterloh was awarded on her great constant effort in teaching the girls on a yearly basis.
In conclusion, parents were thanked on their attendance and were invited to attend the dinner.

It’s worth mentioning that Ballet classes are offered by the Art & Educational Center at Sharjah Ladies Club, is based on an educational semester that includes various written and practical exams. Each year a show is performed on stage and examinations are done by the Royal British Academy of Ballet. Whereas ballet at SLC is considered to be an academic year, starts from September and ends in June, for girls aged 3 up to 18 years for amateur and advanced levels supervised by the British Royal Academy and awarding them with certificates.
