Child Safety - Car Seats Campaign Lecture Held At Mother & Child Care Medical Center











Mother & Child Care Medical Center – Sharjah, held an awareness lecture in the waiting room on the importance of car seats usage in vehicles. The lecture was presented by Iman Rashid, from the Health and Education Department from the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. This workshop is within the several activities and events of the Child Safety – Car Seats Campaign, sponsored by Petrofac, the golden sponsor, and under the patronage of Wife of Sharjah Ruler, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qassimi.

The lecture included various tips and guidance, where the lecturer also provided a brief about the campaign and its goals. The campaign’s goal is to raise awareness in the society of the importance of children safety in vehicles. Iman also addressed and focused on the significance of placing children in car seats to avoid any injuries in case of an accident. In addition, she mentioned that 63% of children under 14 years old death in the UAE due to road accidents. And Iman also clarified to the audience the difference between each seat according to the age and weight of the child.

“We work on such lectures to give experts and specialists the chance of direct communication with the society, for the purpose of educating and introducing the principle of car seat usage. Since many parents are not aware of the importance and care in their children’s safety, we are obligated to address the issue of not placing children in car seats, as the percentage of children’s death is high due to road accidents. This issue is very important and disturbing; we are forced to aware and educate parents on the importance of car seats usage”, said Badria Al Ali, Head of Media and Marketing - Car Seats Campaign.

Al Ali also assured the active role these lectures bring in educating the audience of the precise information that should be taken while buying the right car seat, according to the child’s weight and age. Moreover, these lectures also work on facilitating the process of choosing and buying car seats, as it provides information of all the car seats available in the market.

In conclusion, a question and answer segment was held for the audience in the waiting room. Then a campaign’s question was asked to the audience with the prize of children car seat, in order to motivate and encourage parents of using car seats.

Moreover, brochures were distributed amongst the audience, showing the various types of children car seats.
