Sharjah Museums Department Prepares To Celebrate Eid Al Fitr

As part of Eid Al Fitr celebrations, the Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) is organising special activities at the Sharjah Science Museum on the second and third days of Eid.

The museum will be open to visitors at no cost to enable them - particularly children - to enjoy the exclusive activities that will run every day from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

The SMD has announced that the official holidays for all its museums will start on Monday 29 August, and that the museums will be open on the second and third days of Eid. The administrative staff’s holiday will be from Sunday 28 August to Saturday 3 September, and a return to normal working hours on Sunday 4 September.

Speaking of the occasion, SMD Director General Ms Manal Ataya said, "Organising the Eid activities emphasises our commitment to implementing the directives of H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in creating an educational and scientific environment for the residents of Sharjah. We are constantly endeavouring to adopt programmes and activities that have scientific, cultural, religious, and artistic significance. SMD has prepared a rich programme to celebrate Eid Al Fitr with the aim of highlighting the importance of this joyous occasion, instilling religious and educational values in our children, and providing a atmosphere that is culturally rich and entertaining for museum visitors, particularly children".
