Exhibition Presented Glimpses Into UAE Culture Through Stamps

Emirates Post was honoured for its sponsorship and participation in the 2nd Sharjah Arabian Stamp Exhibition at the closing ceremony of the event organised by Emirates Philatelic Association in association with Mega Mall Sharjah.

The closing ceremony, held at Holiday Inn Sharjah, was attended by stamp collectors from different countries, a number of officials and people interested in philately.

Ibrahim Bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates Post Group, said: "This exhibition presented a good platform to promote the cultural richness of the UAE. The Emirates Post stamps at the exhibition effectively showcased the culture and heritage to a large crowd of participants, visitors and stamp collectors."

Emirates Post displayed at its stand a wide range of commemorative stamps on different UAE personalities and various topics issued since 1973, right from the first stamps bearing the name of the United Arab Emirates until current time. The stamps were admired by a number of visitors and stamp collectors.

Children were encouraged to get more involved by participating in a competition on designing a postcard on the 40th anniversary of the UAE National Day. The winning drawing will be printed on postcards and distributed officially by the EPA. The competition was open to children between the age of 5 and 15 years.
