More Than 90% Of Sharjah International Book Fair Exhibitors Confirmed Their Participation At The Exhibition’s Next Session











More than 90 percent of the Arab and foreign publishing houses that participated in Sharjah International book Fair 2011 confirmed their participation in the next year’s session, and assurances came from Saudi Arabia, which was the guest of honor this year, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, UAE, in addition to other participating foreign countries.

Ahmed bin Rakkad Amri, Director of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2011 said: "Since the launch of the exhibition in year 1982, Sharjah International Book Fair opens its doors to all who wish to participate from Arab and foreign publishing houses, as this comes from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah belief in the need for cultural, literary & scientific diversity, and the necessity to provide the book in all kinds scientific, educational, literary, historical, fun and valuable, and in various languages of the world, making this year’s show at its thirtieth session of the most successful and prestigious sessions. "

King Abdulaziz University one of the exhibitors of this year, is keen to participate in all sessions of the exhibition, and provide wonderful and different addresses dedicated to academics in particular, and participate in the Saudi wing. Saleh Bin Omar Bsfar, Communication and public relations doctor at King Abdulaziz University confirmed to participate next year saying: "each year the show dazzles us with what it presents from amazing events, services and participations and support to all exhibitors at all levels, which certainly encourages us to be here in Sharjah in the next year, God willing."

Followed, Issam Abu Hamdan from Al-Saqi House Lebanon, which is participating for the 16th time in the Sharjah International Book Fair, indicated that the exhibition took part in changing the cultural landscape in the whole UAE and not in Sharjah only, as for the turnout it is good especially since the House offered 530 titles from Lebanon, to provide for the educated & interested visitor of Sharjah exhibition, and the exhibition was an opportunity to form lasting relationships with customers from the UAE and other visitors from all over the Arab world, who come specifically for the Al-Saqi House to inquire about the titles of some books that we publish.

He added, also came from Egypt “The Arab Nahda house” for distribution and publishing, carrying with them 650 titles to participate in the exhibition for the twelfth time in a row, & they are specialized in legal books as reported by Mohamed Abdulkadir of The Arab Nahda House, who said: " The institutional and individual Support is very excellent in the show, and certainly we will participate in next year and what follows.”

Also participating since 1994 “Jumaa Al Majid Center” in Sharjah International Book Fair, and displays 97 titles at its thirtieth session, whose representative praised the wonderful and exceptional organization & pointed out the great diversity of nationalities and groups visiting the exhibition, what gives the show its vitality and excellence.

For Hazem al-Samarrai responsible of the Al-Hekma House from Britain, the Sharjah International Book Fair is the best globally, as he has not seen a similar organization of what was found here in Sharjah, and the cleanliness and organization of the most important and more things to note, and this is what you will not find anywhere else at the same level, he said. Al-Hekma House participates in the exhibition since 12 years, & it offers the visitor 250 Arab different titles this year, and participating in the coming years is inevitable and natural for them, he added.

Ahmad al-Halabi from “Al Olamaa Al Sigar House” said that this is the eighth year in the exhibition, which is the station of an international mission for the House; where the house been participating & will definitely participate in the coming years whenever they get the opportunity. Halabi also added that the turnout this year is very huge, it is an opportunity for a publisher to view and familiarize the public with all that is new from books & pens, whether Arab or foreign.

Moreover, Jamal Al Shehhi’s owner of Al Kitab House UAE confirmed that the exhibition is the strongest upon current Arab exhibitions, and since the house is relatively new this is the second time in a row that we share in the exhibition, but we will continue to participate in it, since I found great organization and the opportunity to provide new poetry and fiction pens, as it has helped publishers provide their latest books and novels of literary and cultural. Besides, the exhibition is the most important gathering for all those interested in the book of all age groups and both sexes, plus it is an opportunity to promote any junior pen and any recent book, and this is one factor to progress Sharjah’s culture in particular and UAE in general. And what is worth mentioning that Al Kitab House UAE provides 20 new titles this year, and has lot of authors that have signed their new publications within the exhibition.
