Sharjah Classic Cars Museum Participates In Concours d’Elegance Show In Kuwait











Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) Had announced the participation of Sharjah Classic Cars Museum in the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance —a classic car show-which was held at the Marina Crescent from 15-18 February.

The Concourse d’Elegance 2012, which is considered one of the largest and most prestigious classic car competitions in the world, was held under the patronage of former Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al Mohammed Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah .

The competition, regarded as one of the greatest events for classical cars across the world, featured many uniquely classic and rare vehicles that were brought together under one roof to be on display.

The Sharjah Classical Cars Museum participated in the event by showcasing a collection of its Classic automobiles from the early 20th century, which were kept in a good condition to be passed on to future generations. Among these cars was Dodge 1917, regarded as one of the first Dodge cars from the early stage of the automotive industry Which this car is now displayed in Sharjah Classic Cars Museum.

The key highlights of the show included cars from Hollywood movies, including the original James Bond’s car, Aston Martin DB5, which was recently sold for $4.6 million in an auction, special events for Muscle Cars, Italian sports cars and motorbikes show by Kuwait Riders and Kuwait Porsche Club, as well as a large selection of some of the world’s rarest, most valuable, and most exotic models.

The event was an excellent opportunity for Sharjah Classic Cars Museum to exhibit a collection of its historical and old cars to compete with a number of countries from across the world at the premier car show which attracted thousands of lovers and fans of old cars.

The participation is aimed to identifying the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum at a global event in order to highlight our Culture and Introduce our knowledge in Kuwait and GCC to Enhance the status of Sharjah museums and their cultural ,historical and archaeological collections."
