Bee’ah Showcases It’s Expertise At WETEX & Inaugurates Expanding Its Operations Into Dubai

Bee’ah Affirms Its Readiness To Take On Waste Management Operations In Dubai

Bee’ah – the Middle East’s leading and award-winning integrated environmental and waste management company – announced that it has set up its operations office in Dubai, with an aim of expanding its geographical reach and provision of services and expertise to the Emirate of Dubai.

Bee’ah and its waste collection and street cleaning division, Tandeef, have partnered with WETEX as a strategic sponsor of the region’s pioneering exhibition and networking platform. Bee’ah will showcase its operational capacity and expertise at WETEX from March 13th to 15th, 2012 in Dubai at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center.

Our applaudable achievements in Sharjah are not only suitable but furthermore ideal to be applied in Dubai and other Emirates of the UAE,” said Khaled Al Huraimel, Chief Executive Officer at Bee’ah. “Tandeef’s on-the-ground operations were launched in the beginning of 2010, and since then, Tandeef has successfully delivered innovative waste and recyclables collection and street cleaning services, while introducing, to the Emirate of Sharjah, international best practices that are tailored to fit the local environment and challenges.”

Marking its presence in Dubai, Bee’ah will be participating, for the first time, at WETEX 2012, and taking the opportunity of this exhibition to demonstrate its latest initiatives and technical innovations in the environment and waste management industry.

Bee’ah’s booth will be attributed to the latest initiatives introduced by the company such as one of the UAE’s first reverse vending machine, which allows residents to receive rewards when they deposit aluminium cans and plastic bottles for recycling. This is the first incentive scheme of its kind to be implemented by Bee’ah, as part of its recycling drive to promote a better, cleaner and greener environment. In addition, Tandeef will display the current and newest fleet of waste collection, street sweeping and cleaning vehicles at the main entrance of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Tandeef division is part of Bee’ah’s overall integrated waste management solutions which also include recycling, waste minimization and community outreach and awareness. This division is responsible for the residential waste and recyclables collection; industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) waste and recyclables collection, street cleaning and beautification; and logistics and waste transfer.

Earlier, the company rolled-out the Middle East’s first residential recycling programme on a large-scale outreach in Sharjah, enabling residents to separate and recycle their waste at home. Dual coloured blue and green bins were introduced – blue dedicated for recyclable waste and green for all other wastes – as well as new state-of-the-art collection and cleaning equipment, and direct door-to-door awareness informational tools were provided to homeowners to help make recycling an even easier task.

In April 2011, the Dubai Municipality Waste Management Department visited the Bee’ah Waste Management Complex, where the two entities discussed ways to enhance their cooperation and strengthen their collaborative efforts to improve the environment of the U.A.E., and exchange knowledge and experience around potential areas of legislation, regulations, joint efforts and development of environmental awareness programmes.

Bee’ah was awarded ‘Best Waste Management Company in the Middle East’ by the Facilities Management Awards for its achievements in the environment and waste management industry, and was awarded the Arabia CSR Award in recognition for its educational and community initiatives in the Middle East, in 2011.
