Environment Minister Participates In Desert Clean Up Drive In Al Ain

Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water along with over 100 employee and students took part in a desert clean up campaign in Al Ain under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and supporting the initiative of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister for making the desert resilient and lively.

The campaign was organised by Ministry of Environment and Water in cooperation with Municipality of Al Ain, Emirates Post Group Holding, International Fund for Animal Welfare and Al Ain Distribution Company.

Dr. Rashid Ahmed affirmed the important position that deserts have in UAE life as a part of the natural habitats and heritage as well as a cornerstone for the comprehensive development for the future. He also stressed the importance of activating these programmes, awareness and clean up drives.
