Air Arabia Launches Direct Service To Salalah


Airline offers two weekly flights between Sharjah and Salalah starting June28, 2012










Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa, today announced the launch of a new service to Salalah, Oman starting June 28, 2012. The new route will become airline’s second destination in the Sultanate, and 75thoverall worldwide.

Air Arabia will offer services to Salalah on Thursdays and Saturdays, departing from Sharjah International Airport at 16:00 and arrivingin Salalah Airport at 17:55. Return flights will depart from Salalah on the same days at 18:35 and arrive in Sharjah at 20:25. The inaugural flight, G9 0119 will take-off from Sharjah International Airport on Thursday, 28 June 2012.

“Salalah is a popular tourist destination of Oman andwe targetthrough our new twice weekly service to develop the tourism traffic between Salalah, the UAE and the wider region” said Adel Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer, Air Arabia. “Oman has rapidly established itself as a major tourist destination worldwide and introducing this attractive service is just in-time for our customer to benefit from while planning their summer get-a ways”.

The city of Salalah is a popular destination for tourism due to the natural attractions and its seasonal weather, locally known as “Khareef.” Salalah includes a distinctive natural diversity where the coast blends with the mountains and the desert in wonderful harmony.During the Salalah Tourism Festival, takes place from 15 July to 31 August every year,Salalah is frequented by visitors from all over the worldThe beautiful beaches and coastline are also major attractions for scuba diving and bird watching.

The launch of services to Salalah will complement Air Arabia’s existing flights to Muscat, which operate twice daily.
