The Management of Mega Mall organized on Thursday, 21 June, a special ceremony, making the conclusion of its autism awareness campaign, which was launched in mid April under the title ’Autism is not a puzzle; it’s a challenge — help us to help them’.
The celebration featured an array of educational and entertaining events and activities in the presence of representatives from Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, Sharjah Autism Centre, and Sharjah Economic Department, as well as a number of media representatives.
During the celebration, Sharjah Autism Centre received a cheque of Dhs 94,496.00 as contribution from Mega Mall in support of the Centre’s activities to help it develop its services offered to autistic children. Abdullah Al Khamis, PR and Government Relations Manager at Mega Mall, presented the cheque to Ms Nana Abdullah Almansour, from Sharjah Autism Centre, in the presence of Mr. Mohammed Al Moaini from Sharjah Economic Department.
The ceremony witnessed an array of awareness activities and events to raise public awareness about autism, in addition to drawing many special prizes, including the Best Sales Staff in recognition of its role in increasing the awareness of shoppers, which was won by Noura Mustafa from Al-Jeaidi retail Shops.
The draw for the second grand prize was held to select the winner from among the shoppers who spent Dhs200 at Mega Mall, out of which is Dhs5 will be donated to Sharjah Centre for Autism.
Abdullrahman Mohammed Alkhalid from Syria, won the second grand prize of Dhs100,000 savings account with Sharjah Islamic Bank which was presented by Abdullah Al Khamis to the winner.
The two-month campaign included awareness and entertaining workshops, with a focus on individuals with special needs, schools, clubs and special centres.
The campaign also saw the organization of theatrical shows, puzzle games and storytelling sessions, as well as art workshops by Sharjah Museums Department, dancing puppet shows, in addition to competitions and prizes for shoppers.
