Department Of Municipal Affairs Working Hard To Making Abu Dhabi Most Liveable Places In World |

"We are committed to contributing to our leaders’ 2030 vision. The DMA is working hard to making the cities and towns of Abu Dhabi one of the most liveable places in the world through its different projects such as the new Abu Dhabi Building Codes, improving the street signage system and many such projects", Ahmed Shareef, Undersecretary of the DMA said. The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) sponsored the ’Place Making’ seminar that took place yesterday, July 26, 2010 at Yas Island. The DMA’s sponsorship came as part of the Municipal system’s commitment to creating distinctive Abu Dhabi cities and towns that are a great place to live, work and visit. 15 employees from the Municipal System attended the event, which focused on knowledge sharing in place making amongst Municipality professionals and others from different entities in Abu Dhabi, the Gulf Region, and the Middle East. Professionals from different sectors were involved, including the Town services sector, Town planning sector, and Infrastructure Sector. Talal Abdulla Al Salmani from Al Ain Municipality was one of the speakers at the event. He talked spoke about how Abu Dhabi is differentiating itself through managing the Emirate’s image. The municipalities’ attendees were engaged in dialogue with other professionals and were able to obtain useful ideas to supplement their own 2030 plans, which has quality of life at its centre. The municipalities’ attendees were proud to talk about Abu Dhabi leading the way in place making, citing projects such as the Abu Dhabi corniche, and Sheikh Zayed Mosque as examples of how Abu Dhabi is improving quality of life in the Emirate Shareef concluded: "We are working together as a Municipal system, and are proud to play a central and effective role in achieving the vision and goals of the Emirate. Through our participation, we are seeking to set forth a great future that delivers a better quality of life to achieve a sustainable living environment for the people living and visiting the Emirate of Abu Dhabi." |
