Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, honoured Dubai Customs on winning the 2017 Watani Emarat Humanitarian Work Award in the Basmat Watan (Nation’s Imprint) category.
The award ceremony for the fifth cycle of the Watani Emarat Humanitarian Work Award, organised by the Watani Emarat Foundation, was themed, “This is What Shaikh Zayed Loves”.
The award was received on behalf of Dubai Customs by Khalil Saqer Bin Gharib, director of Corporate Communication Department, during a ceremony held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, in commemoration of the 13th death anniversary of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Bin Gharib pointed out that this award culminated Dubai Customs’ steadfast efforts in humanitarian work and its longstanding commitment to corporate social responsibility. The achievement has been remarkably recognized through more than 17 local and international trophies since 2014.
The award is aimed at paying tribute to 11 personalities and organisations in recognition of their humanitarian and charitable contributions.
This year’s award is characterised by honouring the Emirati martyrs of humanitarian work in Afghanistan for their self-sacrifice, giving and dedication.
