Dubai Customs has renewed its support for the upcoming edition of the Children’s International Film Festival (CIFF) 2017, as the main strategic partner. The region’s leading film festival for children will be hosted on Thursday 27th April 2017under the patronage of His Excellency, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.
This partnership with CIFF for the second successive year comes to emphasise Dubai Customs’ firm belief in the importance of supporting the UAE’s march towards innovative society and encouraging school children and new generations to be a key part of that march. Dubai Customs aims to get young people engaged and help them become real producers of culture, through developing their imagination abilities and creativity skills, sparked by watching movies and creating their own films to convey their thoughts, ideas and messages to the community.
“It is a priority for us at Dubai Customs to support initiatives that seek to promote children’s creations and innovations in all fields. This is premised on our conviction that nurturing the next creative generation is key to building a sustainable knowledge society and economy which would ensure a brighter future for the UAE,” said Yousef Ozair Mubarak, Director of IPR Department.
Dubai Customs is the first government organization to sponsor the Children’s International Film Festival, presenting 5 valuable prizes for the winners of IPR Films Category. The top cash prize goes to the Best IPR Film, while the remaining prize money will be shared equally between the other award categories of the Best Story, the Best Director, the Best Actor and the Best Animation Film.
The Dubai-based "Film Studio" Company is the organizer of the Children's International Film Festival, which targets teens aged between 6 and 18 years. The Festival was first held in Dubai in 2015.
