HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has received a delegation from Dell headed by Michael Dell, the company’s founder and CEO. The American company is one of the leading companies in manufacturing and trading personal computers. The visit is one of several visits by international companies and organisations to DEWA.
The meeting was attended by Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy & Business Development, and Marwan Bin Haider, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future at DEWA.
The visit aimed to enhance mutual cooperation and exchange expertise and international best practices in smart networks, information security, big data, Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). DEWA is committed to achieving the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world by adopting the latest innovative technologies to improve government services.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al Tayer welcomed the delegation, emphasising that DEWA keeps up with the latest developments of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This enhances its leadership in disruptive technologies in the production, transmission, and distribution of electricity and water by adopting new initiatives, strategies, and technologies.
At the end of the visit, the Dell delegation thanked Al Tayer for the warm welcome and for highlighting DEWA’s innovative projects and initiatives. The delegation highlighted Dell’s latest solutions, technologies, and developments of the research and development that the company is implementing. The delegation showed interest in contributing to DEWA’s projects and initiatives, to promote the sustainable development of Dubai and the UAE.
