Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, has obtained the ISO 22301:2012 certification. The accreditation is awarded to organizations that comply with the requirements of ensuring continuity and recovery of critical business processes and services.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of DSOA, received the certificate from a Lloyd’s Registered Quality Assurance (LRQA) representative in the presence of Dr Mohammed Alzarooni, Vice Chairman and CEO of DSOA, and senior DSOA officials.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “The ISO certification is the sixth addition to DSOA’s record of achievements since its inception. Dubai Silicon Oasis continues to renew its commitment to the vision of our wise leadership through ensuring the delivery of superior quality services across all areas and contributing to shaping Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world.”
He added: “Through implementing the latest business continuity management systems across its platforms, Dubai Silicon Oasis has built a technology ecosystem that is on a par with the highest global standards, effectively boosting the city’s position among the top business hubs of the world.”
For his part, Dr Mohammed Alzarooni said: “We spare no effort at Dubai Silicon Oasis to extend best-in-class amenities and services to the free zone’s residents, business partners and visitors. Receiving the ISO certification from Lloyd’s, the qualified body for such assessments, is a testament for our efforts that enable us to proactively identify new opportunities for development. We are keen to build on our successful track record of ensuring ease of doing business as well as stakeholder satisfaction, and stability for local, regional, and international organizations.”
DSOA attained the ISO 22301:2012 certificate based on its ability to design, implement, operate, maintain, and constantly improve a documented management system to protect against and prepare for any disruptive incidents that may occur. The accreditation ensures compliance with other management system standards – such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO/IEC 20000-1 and ISO 50001 – in support of consistent and integrated interaction with related management systems.
DSO is a wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai that operates as a free zone technology park for large enterprises as well as medium and small companies looking to set up their offices in Dubai.
