Sharjah participates in ITB Berlin for 12th consecutive year

With its extensive campaign for the promotion of Sharjah as a world class tourist destination still in full swing, the SCTDA is once again preparing for its 12th consecutive year participation in ITB Berlin 2009, which will take place on the Messe Berlin fairgrounds from 11 - 15 March.

SCTDA’s Chairman, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi emphasized the importance of the participation in ITB Berlin, saying, "This participation forms part of our strategy for international exhibitions and our campaign to promote Sharjah’s new tourism products to international markets. ITB is considered one of the major global platforms for the exchange of tourism and culture-related ideas and information, which is why we believe it is important to attend this event."

He added: "International exhibitions form an important platform for Sharjah to promote the our tourism advantages, including family tourism, which is one of the main products we highlight at exhibitions, as it incorporates historical, civilized, cultural dimensions, giving us the advantage of having a unique selling point that will allow our voice to be heard, and enable us to stand out from the crowd in the tourism market."

"This is a testament to the importance of SCTDA’s participation in international exhibitions, and illustrates perfectly the advantages and benefits."

This year’s delegation for Sharjah will be headed by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, , and will comprise 19 public and private companies: The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Al Qasba Development Authority, Sharjah Museums Authority, Sharjah International Airport Authority, Air Arabia, Sharjah Airport Travel Agency, Sharjah National Hotels (Marbella Resort, Hotel Holiday International, Oceanic Resort), Radisson SAS Resort, Millennium Hotel, Lou Loua Beach Resort, Sharjah Premiere Hotel & Resort, Golden Tulip Sharjah, Tulip Inn Sharjah, Coral Beach Resort, Orient Tours, and SAHARA Group.
