The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) has organised a lecture titled “The Culture of Political Participation and the Federal National Council” in collaboration with the Districts and Villages Affairs Department in Sharjah.
Hosted by the Mughaider Council in Sharjah, the lecture sought to promote the culture of political participation among members of the community, in the presence of Abdulrahman bin Kamel Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Mughaider Council, along with members of the Council and a number of UAE citizens.
The session featured Dr Ahmed Al Mansouri, Expert in Law and International Relations, who highlighted the role that FNC elections and the culture of political participation play in promoting the “Shura” concept in the UAE and empowering citizens to lead sustainable development efforts. The lecture witnessed positive interaction from the audience; it highlighted the Federal National Council’s role in realising the hopes and aspirations of the UAE people, exploring issues and topics of interest to citizens and, empowering them to play a bigger role in safeguarding the country’s accomplishments.
“Strengthening the Federal National Council’s role in serving the country and the interests of its citizens is a cornerstone of our wise leadership’s vision to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development and shape a better future for coming generations,” Dr Al Mansouri said. “Therefore, engaging citizens in the decision-making process through the FNC elections transforms them into a supporting authority that steers the government’s efforts towards further achievement and excellence, establishing the UAE as one of the best countries in the world across all sectors.”
Al Mansouri applauded the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs for its role in enhancing political awareness through innovative initiatives that promote direct communication with all segments of the community and motivate them to actively participate in the UAE’s sustainable development process.
Participants at the lecture pointed to the importance of the initiative in establishing direct communication with the community, raising political awareness, catalysing their participation in the upcoming FNC elections, and helping create an innovative parliamentary experience that runs parallel to the UAE’s progress in all sectors.
This lecture is part of a series of activities organised by the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs to promote political awareness and enhance communication with all segments of society. It also serves to achieve the Ministry’s vision and strategic objectives to build long-term national partnerships.
